Mentors walk side by side with their students. They encourage, listen and guide. They provide the unconditional love that so many of the students have never experienced. You don’t need to know anything about horses or be an outdoor expert to be a mentor! All you need is a willing spirit and a passion for kids. We will provide you with sufficient training to help you become a successful mentor.
Mentor responsibilities include:
- A one semester commitment (Right Lead and Right Quest meet during the spring and fall semesters for 10 weeks. Each class is two hours long and meets once a week.)
- Fill out an application, including consent for a background check.
- Attend a mentor training session.
- Drive students to and from class, if possible.
Transportation team members are assigned students to pick up and/or drive home before and after their class. This is an essential part of our ministry because many of our students live in rural areas, making it very time-consuming for our leaders to pick up everybody in a class.
Transportation Team Responsibilities include:
- A one-semester commitment
- Filling out an application, including consent for a background check
- Meeting with a mentor coordinator who will assign students and give directions
- Picking up several students from their homes, schools or class each week
- Being on time
- Loving our students
A student may be sponsored for $200 per semester. Gifts of any amount will help off set the program. If you would like to contribute, please send your donation to
