At New Life Ranch we have a passion for our mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping believers for ministry, and love that we get to do that in the context of camp, because we believe that God uses camp to change lives. We also believe that God invites His people to join with Him in order to see those lives changed. Our compensation philosophy is driven by those beliefs, our core values, and by our missionary staff model.
Missionary Staff Model - Just as Paul and Barnabas were set apart for the work God had for them to do in Acts 13, the Missionary Employees at New Life Ranch are called by God to contribute to the mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping believers for ministry. Although Jesus had access to all His Father’s resources, He chose to be supported by others as He went from town to town proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. Similarly, we have chosen to be supported by those who recognize the tremendous impact NLR has in spreading the good news, rather than significantly increasing our fees to those we minister to in order to cover the costs.
Compensation Philosophy Statement
- Value of Partnerships - We believe in the value and power of partnerships. NLR will be an employee's largest financial partner. Our missionary model offers the opportunity for employees to partner with many other people through financial support and prayer.
- Total Rewards Approach - We understand that compensation extends beyond monetary rewards. We believe that participation in life-impacting work is the biggest reward - having a front row seat to God's activity! Our comprehensive total rewards approach also includes benefits, staff development opportunities, a casual and fun work environment, and some intangible benefits like incredible staff relationships, focus on work-rest rhythms, a seasonal pacing throughout the year, and being incredibly family friendly.
- Staff Development - Investing in the growth and development of our employees is very much a part of our compensation philosophy. We provide continuous learning opportunities to ensure our team members are equipped with the skills needed for personal and professional advancement. Tuition reimbursement is offered.
- Not For Profit - At NLR, as a non-profit ministry we are mission driven, not money driven. That is not to say we are not hardworking or driven by excellence. It does mean that our reward and recognition to our employees isn’t rewarded through monetary compensation, such as bonuses, commission, or performance driven raises.
- Market Competitiveness - When setting the value of a Missionary Employee’s salary, NLR takes into account our non-profit market, the camping industry, and our missionary model to set a competitive range.
