Let's Talk Details

Everything you need to know about camp!

Frequently Asked Questions

Covid-19 has drastically altered the way we are doing many things this summer. We are slowly but surely working through the details of camp this summer, and we ask for your patience as we define the process. As we have answers we will post them here, so check back often!

    - At home pre-screening before families ever get to camp
    - Enhanced screening during check-in
    - Enhanced cleaning of cabins and general spaces during the Family Fun Retreat.
    - More washing and sanitizing of hands when entering cabins and general spaces around camp
    - No large group chapels or events
    - Family Fun Retreat will be split into "cohorts" by cabin complexes based on ACA guidelines. Families will travel with their cohorts for the retreat for meal and activity times. It will be a great time to meet some new families!
    - NLR staff members will use masks when within 6 feet of guests and families.

In our efforts to provide as safe an environment as possible for our family campers and staff this summer, we also want to preserve as much of the camp experience as possible. Your family can expect this retreat to look different in many ways.

    • Family Fun Retreat will be split into "cohorts" by cabin complexes based on ACA guidelines. Families will travel with their cohorts for the retreat for meal and activity times. It will be a great time to meet some new families!
    • Campers and staff will be washing and sanitizing their hands often - entering and leaving any building, before and after any activity, before and after meals, etc.
    • During larger group gatherings such as meals, chapels, and Morning Camp Party/Flock Fiesta, cabins and groups will be separated to create more space into between each smaller group.
    • Certain games and activities will not be experienced at camp this summer if we are not able to mitigate the risk in a sufficient manner. Most activities will also see new processes and procedures in place to include things like sanitizing equipment between each use.

The CDC has recommended that camps treat cabins as "families" throughout events and work to limit exposure to a defined group of people. Family Fun Retreat will be split into "cohorts" by cabin complexes based on ACA guidelines. Families will travel with their cohorts during the retreat for meals, events and activity times. It will be a great time to meet some new families!

Will you be requiring masks to be worn?

Masks will not be required for anyone but NLR staff members (when within 6 feet of families). Campers and family members are more than welcome to use masks during their time but due to the nature of most activities being outdoors and by limiting interactions with other groups of people, we hope to curb the potential spread of COVID-19.
